"Sweet Iron" mild steel, with dog bone copper link. Not all the same brand. I picked the first one up at a farm sale rusted up, but its identical as far as I can tell.
My horses like this bit / so I like this bit!
The results were immediate! I had one fighting the bit. I went to a bitless bridle and it was big improvement, but she didn't rein as well.. I put her in this bit / immediately started neck reining better and stopped fighting the bit.
Same story with another mare. Had a large ring standard snaffle. She was ok but acted like she didn't like the bit. I gave her this one and I could the difference in her attitude before I ever even got on.
The bad side?/ Its not a silver plated diamond studded show bit. The upper rings could be slightly larger. You have to pay attention to get everything sorted out and in the right orientation when putting it together. Its easy to twist or get a strap in the wrong spot. Basically you just have to pay attention. Overall I cant think of anything bad about this bit considering what it is. It will rust but that's not absolutely bad.
I will be buying more of these.
