Relative Speed vs. price and build quality
This is not the fastest USB 2.0 memory dongle out there. That said, it is more than adequate in terms of "read" speed, which is generally more important to the majority of users. A handful of these on an externally powered USB 2.0 port makes for an excellent weekly backup system. Six of these approach a 180 GB SSD hard drive that can be fit into a small plastic or metal box and stored off-site. We back up our music, document files and the like with this configuration. Using color coded tape to identify drives by topic helps. If the drive shell was longer or larger, using a bar code system would make archiving faster and simpler.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good value, minor cons
Bought this flash drive because it's a good price, has the capacity I needed, and likely to be reliable because it's made by SanDisk. I don't stream anything from this, so its relatively slow transfer rate is not a big deal. Too hard to get it into the USB slot of my computer as well as stiffness in removing it.
This is a terrible design on this specific one. SanDisk has great other flash drives. But this particular one has an issue with getting it into the slot of the USB of my computer as well as removing it is very stiff. That is bad because you can really do some damage to the computer USB slot drive. I won't buy this particular one but the bigger ones of SanDisk are better. These work perfectly for making individual bootable copies of each Apple MAC OS installation software
When disaster strikes or the need arises to reinstall a Mac operating system I download and use Lion Disc Make to make copies of legacy and even the newest operating systems. There are many options for restoring the operating system on Macs but using a USB flash drive is probably the simplest way and these are very affordable to use. A friend needed to install Snow Leopard just a few days ago on a 2009 MacBook Pro and used my copy on one of these flash drives. I have all of the older OS and even the newest burned and copied on to these flash drives. This are big enough to hold at least one OS and if I partitioned in to two I could actually have two different OS systems on one flash drive.
