If you need RAMbus and your system runs too hot, this is the way to go.
I got this to upgrade an old dual-Xeon server. It benchmarks about 3% slower than the big-name brands, but makes up for that by running a good 30 degrees cooler. Since heat is the enemy of longevity, this is an excellent tradeoff. In short, not the fastest RAM of its era, but running so much cooler is well worth the very small difference. And the price is right.
