This AMD Phenom II Dual-Core Processor (HMN640DCR23GM) is a good one to get it is fast, reliable, works well, is fast, and easy to install (if you know how.) Ended up swapping with the slower P650 2.6Ghz and the fan quieted down. Old review: The most bang for your buck CPU upgrade for the HP / Compaq 592809-001 motherboard. Now Windows 10 on my CQ62Z-300 is much more responsive than with the stock AMD V140 CPU. Web pages load faster. Utility programs like CCleaner and Windows System Care finish in a shorter amount of time. The original CPU ran at 25 watts so we knew that we would be sacrificing some laptop battery life with this 35 watt CPU. Also noticed that the bottom of the laptop runs a lot warmer so made sure to clean out the dust bunnies around the CPU cooling fan and heat sink to prevent overheating and motherboard damage. CPU was the correct part but had slight damage.
Purchased replacement CPU for HP Laptop that would not boot up. Pins on replacement CPU were bent in shipment because they were not sufficiently protected. Had to straighten them to allow for insertion. Laptop still would not boot once put back together. A few days later tried to boot again and was successful. Used laptop a couple times and it now will not boot. So I'm not sure how to review the item? Most likely it is good and I have another issue.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fits the Slocket
Client friend has a sentimental laptop that needed to have the motherboard and cpu replaced to get working again. It took no less than 3 of each to get a working combo that successfully booted the system back to life. Son has now take laptop off to start college and squeeze the remaining life out of it.
