Not enough power or rotational speed for real jobs.
Just not strong enough for real work. I have a ton of batteries for B & D stuff because my gardening stuff is all black and decker. I decided to try the power tools to see if I could get some use out of the batteries in between yard chores. This stalls out unless you go very slowly. I bought one of those red blades everyone uses since usually those are enough to make a poorly performing saw at least usable. Not this thing. It's too bad because I love the weed eater and hedge trimmer, actually has more power than the bright green versions I also own. Shame about this saw. This runs @ 3700 rpm, the bright green saws I have run @ 4400 and it makes a huge difference, they also don't bog down nearly as much. The matrix trim saw is pretty darn amazing for what it is, I probably had too high expectations for this. If I need to saw something thicker than 1/4 inch I reach for another saw, and honestly if it's a 1/4 inch I reach for the matrix trim saw. Black and Decker battery operated circular saw
Note: The saw works well, but because it is battery operated can only cut 1/4" thick plywood or items like molding. It is not powerful enough to cut through thicker wood like a traditional 110Volt circular saw. When using as designed. Good DIY light duty saw.
It works great for light duty such as plywood cutting. Does cut 2x4's, but to cut many of them get more batteries. I have several batteries, so I could actually use it all day. Also recommend a good blade it makes a big difference. It is also much quieter than an electric saw. So, for small DIY work with any size plywood I highly recommend this saw. Nice light battery-operated circular saw
Wouldn't want to have to build a house with it, but it does a good enough job on the things you buy a light battery-operated saw for. I have about 10 other tools that all use the B&D 20vMax batteries, and this is a nice tool to have in that lineup. ( Have to say, though, I bought it to replace another one just like it that quit working after not too many uses.
