tiny o stuff
I installed Atlas O switches on the garden O layout. I wanted manual switch control. I ordered these 208S switch throws. When they arrived I thought they were for HO. They are small. They are plastic. They are easily broken. The pin that fits into the switch is too thin. The mounting holes on the 208s are too small for even the Atlas track screws. I had to drill them out so as not to crack them. Lesson learned. Once installed, the tiny little lever that changes the points is barely big enough to lift and switch. Also, once the 208s is into position, straight or through, it stays there. Derailments happen because there is no snap back of the points as the cars run through the switch in the opposite direction.
