Using the singer 2277 sewing machine is great. I have not tried the automatic needle threader yet but I am loving my machine! I love just zipping through a project that I am working on and having it done in no time at all!

Love this machine. Purchased one for my daughter today too. Easy to use for either a beginner or more experienced seamstress as a light weight travel machine. I keep it well maintained so I have had mine for over 6 years and it runs like new. Has enough stitches for simple or complex items. Handles slippery or knit fabrics with ease. Used it for many applications like shirring or smock stitches and those tight corners with doll clothes. Next project is quilting which I am sure it will perform to its usual workhorse mode. Love the automatic threader and quick exchange pressure foot options. Oh and threading it is easy, so snagged threads are not the painful experience as with my older singer model.

I've blown up three Singer 2277 machines after a lot of hard and heavy use. That's just what happens to these plastic machines. To be quite honest with you, after layering and quilting several quilts, mending jeans, sewing vinyl, satin, lots and lots of cotton, these have performed admirably. This is a great machine for beginners because it's pretty forgiving of novice mistakes. Also, ask yourself, why would you want to pay more for another plastic machine when all you're doing is handing over more money for the name plate? Save your pennies, go with the 2277, and when it croaks, it's easier on your wallet than replacing the Husqvarnia clone of this machine.
