I removed old valve and compared with new one. Looked very similar. Old valve was in with 4 or more turns. New valve had difficulty starting and would not turn more than 3/4 turn. Wound up sanding threads applying teflon tape and was able to get to full turns in. Not leaking hopefully it holds up

The screen mesh is too fine, probably finer than the downstream fuel filter but it's removable. The metal is soft, not steel like the original, so the work around is to go to brass fittings & fuel quality rubber tubing.

Tried turning the shut-off valve into the bottom of the fuel tank. It went in about an 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch and got very hard to turn. The old one turns right in and the threads look just fine on it. Don't know what the problem is.
