Horrible
The problem I have with this preamp is twofold. Firstly the bluetooth range is about 10 foot tops. That is pretty short, the amp I use has a bluetooth that reaches over 25 foot. Secondly the amp resets the input to tape every time the unit is powered down. Until I find a different preamp I'm using a bluetooth dongle hooked to the tape input. The unit sounds ok but for me the limited bluetooth range is a killer. UPDATE unit is now completely unusable. The right channel has a very loud buzz to it. Awesome Surprise
I purchased the MUSYSIC MU-PRE2H Professional Audio Sound Processor Preamp solely for its option of utilizing balanced signals out (XLR connections) to my amps. I initially sent a signal from my brand new Rockville AM/FM receiver to the processor, but the sound quality was not so good. So out of curiosity, I eliminated the receiver, as the processor has a built in FM tuner. WOW, this little unit Rocks... Besides the sound clarity, the unit has a host of options that equipment can hook into it, also has Blue tooth technology. Don't let the low cost and size fool you, I highly recommend this unit, in fact I'm buying a 2nd one as a back up. A good project for the technically savvy
Musysic MU-PRE2H Review 161019 Five Stars ***** A good project for the technically savvy. First let me say that I like this product. I am having fun with it. I am a retired Electronics Engineer and like technical challenges. Plus there is no other device that has the features of the Musysic MU-PRE-2H. The features I like are (1) MP3 SD/USB player with readable ID3 Display, random play feature, ease of navigation, and remembers all settings when powered down and when turned on, starts playing where you left off last time, (2) detachable power cord, (3) processor loop, (4) Output RCA connectors to Amp, (5) Volume Control, (6) Tone Controls, (7) Compact, (8) Good Build quality and ease of disassembly, repair and modification. I could not buy the parts to build this device for what I paid for it. The only defective part I have found is the grounding switch (which I repaired). The question is whether the product is right for you. The product is right for you as long as: 1) you do not need a Phono preamplifier (The PHONO input is a line level input, you will have to supply your own PHONO preamplifier). 2) you do not need a tape monitor function-It does not work (I repaired mine). 3) you do not need a recording output-it does not work (I repaired mine). 4) you do not need a balanced output (There is no Balanced chip in this design) (I disabled the balanced outputs). 5) you do not mind that the output of the MP3 player has saturation distortion in one direction of the waveform (I repaired mine). 6) you do not mind that the Balance control is mostly non-functional (I repaired mine) 7) you do not mind that the SD player does not perform with PNY 2Gb cards (I use larger capacity cards). 8) you do not mind that some of the functions have the Left and Right channels reversed (I repaired mine). Great item, Too much stuff on it to get it to work. I could not make it work.
I sent my pre amp back as it has so much stuff on it, I couldn't get it to work. I talked to a guy about it for a long time it still would not work. I'am not a person that knows a lot about this item but I thought that it would be easier than what I got. Just what I was looking for!!
Really looks nice and works great. Replaced my big bulky home stereo with a built in amp i never used with this 1 space tuner/Bluetooth/sd card/usb reader.... I Picked this over all the other Hybrid tuners because of the multiple inputs in the back. I needed to be able to switch from the computer, DVD player and ext CD recorder. I don't really need the mic input, but it does work very well. So does the echo. I do wish it had a remote for it, but not a big deal. Sounds great, looks great and price is nice... EXCELLENT works well with my 26,000 watt sound sytem
