Worth it.
Sure, other O-rings will fit and may work for a while, but the good folks at Subaru figured out that the materials uses in this one address the shortcomings in the old version. At first, I thought it was a high price for a "piece of rubber" but I went ahead and bought 2 of them just in case I ruined one. The first one worked beautifully. I went from the nagging squeal of my better half (that's called a joke we have a healthy relationship where we can say stuff like that and not get offended) to the blissful peace of a silent power steering system. Completely DIY friendly, I did it in the morning without changing out of my PJ's. To think there was talk of taking it to a mechanic and paying labor rates for that. TL;DR Try it. quick easy fix for a leaking Subaru power steering pump
