First impression upon taking the Uke out of the box was, it was beautiful. The pictures do not do it any justice. Tuned her up and started to play. The low G string dominates the sound of this Uke, there's no getting around it. Although it is both linear and reentrant tuning, once is again the low G is dominant. A definite mix of guitar and Ukulele. First few days I was really unsure as to whether I liked it or not. Since I am actually a guitar player I was more familiar with the wound steel string. This makes one have to work harder to play than a four string Ukulele. After a few days it slowly began to grow on me. I have found ways of muting the low G in places it seems inappropriate. So, you may ask why have the low G, in many places it sounds great. That being said, it will probably not be your only Ukulele
For the price, it is a very nice sounding ukulele, it became my primary use ukulele, well balanced, I can play with it for hours without getting fatigued.
