This is a very sturdy item. The ribbing is not too deep so it doesn't affect the bacon. If you like your cooked bacon to be flat and crisp throughout, this is the item for you. I love this Bacon press ! I never imagined it would be this nice and work so well ! I had a smaller one first and liked it , but I wanted a bigger one to cover more area at once ! I was so surprised at how nice it is to cook hamburgers and it even works to keep grease from popping out of the pan and onto the floor ! It is certainly great for bacon !
