    Perfect Fit, Except for One Minor Inconvenience

    I installed this replacement keyboard in a DELL LATITUDE E5470 Laptop. It fit and worked perfectly. However, one of the smaller ribbon cables did not line up with its connector. This required that the ribbon be moved sideways enough to get it to seat properly. IMO, this may be because this keyboard is meant to fit several different model laptops, and possibly the connectors aren't in the same location in all models. However, shifting ribbon cables sideways is not easy and requires care and patience. I had to loosely loop the ribbon back over itself and make sure it wouldn't be crushed with the keyboard in place. Initially, since that particular ribbon appeared to be connected only to the pointer button, I planned to leave it disconnected and flat since I don't use the pointer. However, Windows would not boot with it disconnected, so I did connect it, and now I also have the pointer function. Overall I am very happy with the keyboard and would recommend it, subject to that one ribbon cable caveat.

    Typing on it right now!

    For about $20, shipping and tax included, was a fantastic listing. Shipped in plenty foam packing and the keyboard itself seems to be brand new. Found a YouTube video on how to install it properly and it just worked. Backlight, trackpoint, mouse buttons, everything is great. Great price for the best keyboard for this laptop model.

    Correct part

    Shipped fast, none of the European characters I saw on some of the other ads, works great. Watch YT to install, bit of a pain, keyboard is basically last component you get to in teardown. Make sure you are careful with ZIF connectors (don’t break them) and ribbon cables (make sure they are in securely).

    Blinded by the light
