Deceptive advertising.
Firstly I guess western companies are following China with absurd claims. 1200Mb/s is advertised. I assumed (and they purposely lead you to believe) that both 2.4 and 5ghz are used at the same time. That is how they get that number. Once I got it I realized it doesn't have two radios. You can use one or the other. So 1200 is impossible and simply... A lie. Next I bought a western brand because quality and better software driver support etc. I got their program direct from their site, and it all but crashed my computer. Took me a day to sort it out and let windows just auto detect and install whatever it does.. Then it worked. Last d-link I'll ever buy. Windows 10 blocked it.
It's a great product. I used it on Vista and had no problems, but when I tried to apply it to Windows 10; it was blocked. I had to open the "hidden administrator", stop the smart screen, and back load it from the computer. I now have 4 bars of wireless communication instead of 1. Fast Dual Band Wi-Fi AC Adapter works great
This was a great upgrade for my old Toshiba i7, but you should throw the driver disk away and go straight to D-Link's site and download the appropriate installer from there. (I kept getting install problems with CD installer) Downloaded installer worked perfect the first time. Toshiba Satellite P755- i7 w/6GB running Windows 10 latest 64 bit version from USB3, gives me 2.5 & 5.0 GHz n & ac wi-fi connection (much faster than stock 2.5 GHz Wi-Fi)Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Disappointed in Performance,,
I bought this for use with a windows 10 client, hoping to resolve some poor performance issues. After installing the driver I went to speed test dot net to test the computers download speed. I was surprised to find it only was downloading at a little over 4 Mbps. My other machines all download between 220 - 240 Mbps. This is very poor performance. As the unit was refurbished, I can only assume someone returned the unit because of it's very slow performance. After spending an hour or so trying to modify the configuration to match one of my 3 other machines adapter settings, I've finally concluded this was just a defective unit.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Will not work with Windows 10
Even though Windows10 has 7 in the back control panel this unit needs to have wifi directed only to it. New models of PC don't have shut switches to turn wifi off they give you two options of which wifi you want to use, the older program compatibility will not work on a 10, not saying it might work great on older programs. For me, it was too outdated to work drivers have to be installed with a disk or they ask you to go online to get some. (which I did ) and still did not make it compatible with my PC. Good but needed updated drivers and software.
Works OK but disappointed with the advertising for the product. Based on the picture of the box on the advertising for the product I went to the D-Link website to see the specs for that pictured product. D-Ling website indicated that it was ready to work with Windows 10. When I received it in the mail the product would only work with Windows 8. So I had to go to the D-Link website and chat with a rep to help me update the product to work with Windows 10. An unexpected amount of time that I had not bought this product for. A good deal for the bwidth
The ac1200’s chipset works phenomenally with 6gen processors. The down up ratio is solid and the distance is pretty incredible as well with g/b. An awesome deal. Although you may run into issues if you use the 180 series on any other operating system than Windows. You can alter the driver yourself (not suggested) or find a link online. Completely plug and play. comes with cd, but try without first. i put CD in and before it began set up i had all 3 of my 2.4 & 5G networks showing. I have 6 networks and all showed right away. It also has WIFI 1 WIFI 2 & WIFI 3. Very nice. My computer only had 2.4 network capability. With 4 tvs, 3 phones several ROKU's , 2 printers, You see my point.
