  • Great Replacement Ice Cube Maker

Bought this to replace the icemaker for our 16-year-old Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator, which was making ice, but had a leak that constantly had an icicle form that resulted in a block of ice forming in one comer of the ice bin. I would constantly have to clear this block of ice out of the ice bin, which got to be a real pain. The replacement unit was an exact fit, and, except for a few parts (the wire actuator/ice cube level control, and the old wire harness) that had to be transferred from the old one to the new one, the replacement was pretty much "plug and play". Took off the old one, assembled the new one, and positioned the new one and screwed it in place. I saw reviews that said the unit came with no instructions, but there are several YouTube videos that show how the replacement is done. Folks, get used to doing a little research. Bottom line, plugged the refrigerator back in, pushed it back to the wall, and turned the icemaker on. In a few hours, heard the sound of the first ice cubes dropping into the bin. The bin is almost full of ice after three or four days in operation. This was a great upgrade for our 16-year-old fridge.

  • Fits my Kenmore fridge perfectly

For some reason, the icemaker in our fridge stopped making ice. This icemaker fit perfectly and was an easy DIY repair job. It arrives with all of the pieces as shown in the photo with the description, and comes in a sealed box as shown. My only complaint is that the icemaker was FILTHY with black, smudged fingerprints all over the white front part when we pulled it out of the sealed box. I'd already told my husband to make sure and wash it off before installing it, and his response when he opened the box was, "how'd you know this was dirty?" Of course I didn't know before hand (and, honestly, he probably wouldn't have washed it if he hadn't seen the fingerprints so on hand, it's a good thing they were there, but on the other.... ewwwwww). Anyway, it works great. I'm glad to have ice again!

  • There are YouTube Video's that show you how to replace your broken ICE MAKER if you need to do that.

The unit is of good quality and after watching the YouTube Video's that explained how to replace my ice-maker, it was a fairly simple and straight-forward job. It took about an hour to do and that was only because I had to install a water cutoff valve inline to the ice-maker and water dispenser before I could shut the water off to the ice-maker. After that is was a piece of cake. It seems to make ice very nicely. I bought some 8 lb. ice bags online and so far I have collected about 32 lbs. of ice which I store in a chest freezer for later when the weather is much warmer. The additional ice also helps to keep the chest freezer from having to work too hard. So, I get two benefits for the price of one. Hope this has been of some help to you.

  • Exactly what I needed. Great price. Great merchant. Super great delivery.

Product is exactly what I needed. The instruction sheet it came with was a little lacking, i.e. not a lot of illustrations. Fortunately, I was able to visually compare my old unit with this replacement, and was able to ascertain "what goes where", and install the item. One other drawback was the front cover plate on this new unit was cracked at the corner. I simply re-used the cover plate from my old unit with this new one, and voila, all is good. The price for this was very good, better than I expected. And the merchant delivered the item to me in just 2 or 3 days, much to my surprise. I am pleased.

  • Ice maker replacement

My elderly parents were quoted $300 to replace the ice maker which had been broken for three years. I had no trouble removing the old unit, 4 hex head screws and a snap in wire harness. When looking for a replacement prices were as high as $139 through Kenmore. I figured how could I go wrong with the eBay listed price of around $39. The part that was sent looked almost identical to the original except for cosmetic difference of the plastic cover. Also the wire harnesses sent were too short but luckily the original one was intact and fit the replacement ice maker. I had the the part installed in 10 minutes. It made ice 2 hrs later and has functioned without issue for the last 3 months. Apparently Supco, the maker of this unit makes just about all the ice makers for various brands with the variable being the wiring harness. This not a hard project for the mildly mechanically inclined!

  • This is a excellent replacement ice maker.

This ice maker kit is a great guy and product. It will fit almost any refrigerator that uses this type of an ice maker. Included in the ice maker kit, or items that you might need to make it fit in most refrigerators. The price and the quality, are both excellent.

  • Replace ice maker

My kenmore fridg ice maker quit working. I took a chance to repair it myself because if I call a service men I know that would be an expensive repair. I did find in my iPad repair help YouTube videos with clear instructions . It became clear to just order a new ice maker. With having fridg model number it was no problem to place the order. Within a few days I received the ordered replacement. Again with the help of the videos I was able to restore my fridg. to working condition with no problem . I feel confident do do other repairs with those wonderful videos available on the net. I recommend anybody with some mechanical background to give it a shot. Thanks for the online videos Heinz ( 90 years old )

  • Good product, but the wire harness was shorter than the original

This was a replacement ice maker for my Kenmore Coldspot refrigerator. It is very similar to the original, but the wiring harness was about 1 inch shorter than the original. The first icemaker was a challenge to remove and the replacement was even a greater challenge to install. Next time, I will consider getting out my soldering iron and wire to lengthen the short replacement wire harness. The extra length would have been appreciated. Note, the icemaker is functioning well in my Coldspot.

  • Good Unit works fine

Good icemaker, great value. Perhaps my fridge was a bit too old for this. Looks physically the same and fits in fine. Did need to use my original connecting cable (unit end matched, fridge end did not match either provided). Also needed to us my old bracket underneath. Both minor issues, but I had picked this one because of new bracket and cables. Works perfectly. Now have lots of ice without having to make it manually in separate trays. Would buy again.

  • Ice maker for Whirlpool Products

Got the ice maker and installed it and it makes ice just as it should. The frig is 6 years old and this is the 3rd ice maker it's getting. The first one that came with the frig lasted about 2 years. I replaced it with another brand and that one lasted about 4 years. Now I replaced it with this brand and we shall see how long this one last. The ice maker in the frig I had before this one was the one that came with the frig and it was 25 years old when I passed it on to my son for his garage and it is still in operation and that was 6 years ago so that one is actually 31 years old. I guess we will see how long this one will last.
