Great product with a catch.
I purchased this to control a room heater using Alexa. It works great and is easy to setup when controlling it from your phone, but in order to control it from Alexa you have to set it up using the IHC app, and regardless of what type of device you are wanting to control, you have to program it as a "TV" or else the Alexa app will not recognize the device you want to control. Broadlink Black Bean Mini 3
Great device to turn your phone into an IR remote with the Econtrol app. Easy setup. Put the Bean in learning more via the app (add remote). Personally I use the User Defined Random Sort icon, it gives you more flexibility. Choose an icon, label it and hold it until learn pops up and point your old remote at the Bean. Push the button you want it to learn briefly and the Bean will blink. Then continue to set up the rest of the buttons from the old remote. There is a basic manual that comes with it. If you make a mistake just delete the device and start over. Make sure to back up to the cloud anytime you make any changes. BEWARE THAT THEY ONLY SUPPLY THE USB POWER CABLE, YOU NEED TO SUPPLY THE POWER ADAPTER. MOST USB POWER ADAPTERS FOR CELL PHONES WILL WORK. 5 VOLT 1 AMP IS STANDARD. IF YOU NEED A LONGER CABLE I USE AN USB EXTENSION CABLE. Great support from Broadlink, they answer emails very quickly, if you have a question. It needs to be in line of sight of the IR devices you want to control. IT DOES NOT CONTROL RF DEVICES LIKE REMOTE LIGHT SWITCHES AND OUTLETS. I have the Broadlink RM PRO 2 and I use the Econtrol app on my Android phone and I can control everything I set up on the Pro 2 and the Mini 3. Again make sure to back up to the cloud. I installed the app on my tablet and my wife's phone, so anytime I make a change in the app I back it up to the cloud. Then I open the app on the devices (phones and tablets) and go to settings and download from the cloud list. I highly recommend this device and would buy another one. You can get it for the same price in the USA as they are selling for from China but you don't have to wait a month for delivery.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
