  • Works well for what I wanted it for.

I bought this item to heat up small amounts of water at low power consumption intervals in my solar powered home. A little bit of quick hot water to wash a few dishes in the morning or make a quick cup of tea, all with saving a few fumes of propane on the stove, ('cause those few bits of savings added together equals more savings.) I use all types of energy in a miserly fashion as if I live in way out backwoods Alaska, but unfortunately I live front range Rockies instead, where monetary earnings can also be slim. • Quietly and Quickly Heats Liquids

In the early mornings, when we are traveling, I can warm up hot water or coffee (or any drink) without making noise. If I use the microwave, it wakes my husband. I also do this at home in the mornings when I am up and he is still sleeping. It takes only about 3 minutes to have the drink hot. I set a timer at home so I don't forget it! I make sure its hook is on the side of the cup and that there is enough liquid to cover most of the metal part. I simply rinse it immediately after using it. (Don't immerse the handle.) I have two of these now, one for home and one in my suitcase ready to go.

  • Immersible beverage heater is economical and works great

This isn't the first one of these devices I have owned, and based on the previous ones ease of use, durability and performance I bought another, only because I couldn't readily find the one that uses AC power, and the other one I still have is intended for 12v vehicle use only. The old 120v AC device is over 45 years old, and the 12v one is from 1991, still going strong. This newest one has an ample length cord and is made with more modern materials that appear to be more rugged and less prone to damage from heat. There's not much else to say except that when the urge hits to get quick hot water for a quick cup of instant coffee or a cup of soup, For under $9.00 it seems more sense to use this instead of a microwave or tea kettle.

  • Good quality!

Wouldn't be without one of these. Often comes in handy. Just do not forget the part of the directions that tell you to always have it submerged in water when it is plugged in. If you plug it before, and the drop it in, IT WILL ruin it. Lol I had my last one for soooooo many years, and recently I pulled it out to use totally thinking about how amazing that I have had it so long and it still works. Lol Well, it had been awhile since using it, and I forgot about the importance of it always being submerged when plugged in. That very loud sizzle when I dunked it in the water reminded me, lol and that was the last cup it boiled. Lol But, man oh man, I way got my monies worth outta that little thing. Not sure why it is not good to do that, but the element hears up almost instantly, and it for sure does not sound like it should be dunked in the liquid, after it has heated up, which is litetally seconds. So just remember that important not, and the thing should last ya 20 years. Especially if it is a good quality one like this looks to be.

  • Only good for a standard size standard coffee or tea cup! :(

I was really hoping for an easy to use solution to keeping my tea hot that I drink a few times a day while I'm working in my office at home. Unfortunately, and VERY disappointingly, even though it heats very quickly, it absolutely doesn't work for me, and turned out to be a waste of my money! :( Good points: It heats very quickly, and dries quickly since it's so warm. Unacceptable points: 1 - it's ONLY good for a standard size coffee or tea cup, where the heating coil comes close to the bottom of the cup. Any cups taller than that are a problem as your drink gets closer to the bottom. 2 - The heater will only fit/hang onto cups with thin side wall. It won't hang on the rim of cups or mugs with a thicker wall. 3 - Even though it heats very quickly, having to unplug it while it's still in the liquid is very awkward! It should have an on/off switch on the heater, or as close to the heater as possible. Again... I'm very disappointed. However, as a result, a friend and I are going to invent a much better, more versatile method of keeping drinks hot / warm! :)

  • CUp heater

I purchased this for my photographic darkroom to warm up chemistry. It warms up on average 5 degrees F per min. in one liter of water starting at 45 degrees. So it works quickly but not so fast it can't be controlled. Would be nice if the body was a little longer, like a mixing rod but then again it was intended to fit a mug where it is well shaped. The clip that holds it to the edge of the cup could be wider so it fits thicker cup brims better.

  • coffee water heater

VERY DURABLE. It uses 315 watts and gets a cup full of water hot for tea or coffee in 3 minutes. It is great for use with a solar power station, which I do often. Uses much less power than a small microwave for heating coffee water

  • This should have six stars!

This little travel heater is great! It will heat a mug of water in one minute. I make my tea, coffee, and cocoa without any problem. i also take a slightly larger light-weight pot for ramen and soup. I've used these things for years. They are extra useful.

  • A traveler's friend

Some hotel rooms do not have coffee pots. I just buy a large coffee before retiring for the night and heat it up with the water heater in the morning. The heater fits easily into my luggage (taking up little room). It's also good for heating water for morning or evening tea. I would recommend this heater to anyone who travels. Those that rent a single room without kitchens will find this very handy too.

  • Great Travel Mug Water Heater

It is perfect to take on a trip and can be carried inside of a travel mug. About 4 minutes is all it takes to heat 16oz of water to boiling
