Greatest thing since sliced mice!
This particular Trackball is easier to use and more accurate than any mouse, or other Trackball that I have seen. The operation is completely different than any other, all you fingers seem to do the "wrong" things, and looks strange and uncomfortable. Give it 5 minutes, no... 3 minutes, it will feel so natural and obvious that web pages are simple to navigate, and graphics, or painting programs take very little time to master. I will say that this is the one and only invention of Microsoft that was designed correctly, and works flawlessly. So, they discontinued it. Must be a story there somewhere. they came out in 200?, it's easy to find out, I just can't remember, but it has a USB cord with an old style Mouse plug adapter.
I bought one new at "Office Stuff" just from seeing it on the shelf. Don't remember the price, but a whole lot less than the rare few cost now! Mine wore down slowly over a decade or so. Finally, the ball and socket became so rough from grinding dust, crumbs, ashes, for so long, it was too hard to use. Actually, looking on eBay, those parts are available! I bought this one to play mix and match with, and it's in fantastic condition. Not sure if it's PC to say, but the seller was 's.vandergriff' and deserves some goodness, great sale! The Trackball has a floppy button, lower left. I plan to put the good assembly from mine in it, and off we go! My age now includes arthritis, and some problems with my right hand, I expect this will fix all the trouble and misclicks I get with any mouse.
What negative points? No left hand version, and it's a big piece of hardware. I like big, but that really means nothing. Any hand can work the controls, and it stays in place, you don't push it around. You could upholster the 'tail' and have a great wrist rest! It is comfortable to use.
