Excellent for the DIYer
Both tools are awesome. Great grip, weight, overall size and sturdy construction. That's all good. As for performance, i would recommend this set as far as for a medium size project. A contractor for instance it's going to need way more power and the plastic chuck on the drill won't make things better. BUT!, for smaller builds which of course will be the case most of the time, it's an awesome set. I've drilled holes in concrete with ease (will depend on your drilling bit brand). Other materials say brick, drywall, wood...no problem at all...the bit goes like a hot knife on butter. The impact driver is one tool to be careful with...a slight press on the trigger beyond speed 1 and good bye screw...So be careful so you won't cut the screws half in, nor damage the material around it. Love the charger and the music settings, batteries lasts forever if you are a weekend project maker and the bag is great for carrying this set (it even has pockets for extra bateries)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quality, Innovation and Price
Being a home user, buying and having to replace CHEAP drills for years, I decided to bite the bullet and buy a real drill/driver set. I did a lot of research online as well as speaking with several contractors before purchasing the Makita drill/driver combo. Upon opening the box I was impressed with the sturdiness of the tools, even the carrying case! They are comfortable to hold although heavier than what I am used to. I got over that soon after using them. The brushless motors have tons of power and precise control. I especially like the 2 speed gear setting on the drill giving more power when using larger drill bits. The 4.0Ah lithium-ion batteries last forever in home use and the built-in LED charge indicators are a real convenience. The electronic charger with the built-in fan charges the batteries quickly, extends the battery life and the LED lights let you monitor the charging status. A real plus! After following the Makita brand now for over a year, I've found them to be tops in innovation and quality, constantly bringing new technology to the marketplace. They actually listen to their customers. I'll be purchasing more!
