This vacuum pump works! With the TrueTechTools Rapid Evac (TM) Kit with Fittings, Core Tools and Case, it was easy hook-up and wonderful results. This is my first time using a vacuum pump, so I can not compare to others for noise or even rate, but it does what I needed. Simple to use, and the manufactures web site had all the FAQ's needed to answer my questions.

I bought by DV-200N in the late 90s. Back then, it was a new product. My serial number is six hundred and something, so when I say new product I mean NEW! The only repair I ever had to perform was replacing the urethane coupler between the motor and pump. That was in 2016, so by then the pump was about 19 years old. The coupler costed $10 and took less than 1/2hr to install. Other than that, the only maintenance has been routine oil changes. I usually use Inland 19 fluid because it lasts longer and reaches vacuum faster than the fluids sold at the AC supply houses. This pump has evacuated countless systems over the years. With fresh fluid it will still go below 25 mictons. IMO, JB makes the absolute best AC service vacuum pumps in the industry. If you want better, you would have to buy a laboratory grade pump made by Leybold, Welch, Edward's, etc. One look at the price of those pumps will make you quickly realize just what a bargain the JB pumps are, given their durability, longevity, and vacuum capability. I have been doing high vacuum distillation for more than 30 years using this product. you could spend thousands on similar product from science vendors? It works well providing one uses a dry ice acetone trap between distillation and pump.
