I enjoy using decoys. A bit of a chore to carry when also carrying a deer stand, bow, and possibles bag but adds a neat element to the hunt. I and my daughter used the decoy purchased for this fall for bow hunting. I had no luck with a deer showing up while using the decoy. I saw deer on days I did not take the decoy but the decoy had nothing to do with deer showing up or not. My daughter saw deer most trips while using the decoy. All the deer spotted the decoy, approached closer and lowered and wagged their heads and stamped a front hoof at the decoy, easy gun range but would not approach close enough for a good bow shot. Daughter said the deer seemed to be waiting for an obvious response from the decoy. I plan on experimenting with adding decoy movement when needed, especially for calm days, before next season. I managed a nice wall hanger at a scrape I watched the buck make the afternoon before he returned the next morning 15 yds. from my repositioned climbing stand.Read full review

Had to cut the neck opening back quite a bit to allow the head to move. Am a bit concerned about how well the stand will hold up on frozen ground. Tough to get all the parts into the cavity so I just put some in the cavity and the rest in the bag. Season started last week...we shall see how it works. I have had good luck over decoys in the past and this one looks good so I am looking forward to using it.

It does not make deer into charging lunatics, but it does work and on occasion it might get charged. I use it with only half rack, so not too intimidating, looks like easy target for buck. I tried as doe and nothing appeared to care, after a dirt bike noise 1/4 mile away, two doe walked by 15 yards off of the decoy, but it could work too, IDK. I have 20 pound test line I thought to rig up to help make him look in a particular direction, or wiggle tail a bit, but have not done that yet, a little concerned a deer could walk into it and knock over Scarface lol or just spook, but i doubt they would spook if I let loose of string end. I was hunting archery in PA in rifle two weeks after rut, had 3 button bucks (I'm pretty sure not doe) come on it off in some scrubby stuff to the side of their hoped entrance into a small grass clearing, they snorted and ran, in 5 minutes returned and spent an hour going toward, then away from the decoy at about 20-40 yards. Eventually one came and stomped 9x at 10 yd and then they all left. Juveniles playing roulette, I think, a little scared, a little juiced. Then, Monday, I'd seen a 115 8pt (trailing 9 doe) the night before, it went out in a field and I suspected it would bed in deep cover, in spite of being pushed out by my diesel truck idling a ways away. I got in over 1.5 hour prior to light, heard him come in, or moving, loud stick crack anyway. Did not move, sprayed some tinks 69 at 0600 and a few times through the am. He came out and was just downwind of me, cracked a stick, seemed to be looking at decoy at 50 yd (half rack) and hung around, gave me good shots, but a bit of vine may have been in the way, he walked off, even after i stood and scoped him, he gave a good shot. I never shot, but it worked. So, it seems to not scare them off, makes them curious, does help keep deer in area longer (more shots, more chance other deer come). Definitely worth the $ to get the big elusive wary buck. It's durable, no complaints at all. Primos powergrunt tube is also amazing in pre rut this year, deer very vocal and very likely to turn around and come to it, even after passing trail I wanted them to take, a nice 6pt, some doe. I'm a huge fan of Primos, only reason writing all this, they stand behind stuff, I lost a reed once, mailed me one free. USA service staff, responsive to email the 2x I had a question.Read full review

I would first I would like to Thank Primos for making such a great product and secondly Woodbury outfitters for selling the decoy for the great price they are selling it for. First day using the decoy yielded results, the first deer that came to the decoy I put in the freezer (nice sized buck). I have never used a decoy before but scar face changed everything. My wife used the decoy that evening without using the antlers and stopped six does in their tracks. She was out of position an unable to make a good shot but kept the deer in the area until it was too dark to see. Not sure if I will ever go hunting without scar face again. I would recommend purchasing this decoy, moved well in light wind (I have great video) and yielded great results. Looks great, deer love it and it holds them in the area until you can make a good shot. What more could you ask for?Read full review
