Simple to use, read the instructions 1st
It looks just like the picture. I read the instructions all the way thrue first, then re read them as i did my first batch of bone broth. Excellent pressure canner. Can be used as an weighted gauge by buying an inexpensive weight jiggler. Can aslo be used as a waterbath canner. Works on glass top stoves. Just What I Needed
I bought this so that I could safely can everything from veggies to meat. Done properly... Meat can be safely stored without refrigeration for up to 5 years without degradation and 7 years with some notable losses to quality. Many have said that the convenience and quality far outweighs that of sub freezing storage. 1 the meat is fully cooked and only needs warming to desired temperature and the flavor of wild game is enhanced by the canning process. Great pressure canner, save $$ canning on sale items
I just made 9 pints of canned roast beef. So easy , I did order a PRESTO 50332 PRESSURE CANNER COOKER PRESSURE REGULATOR WEIGHT. Pressure gauge works alright, but the weight I think would be better as you can hear besides seeing the pressure. I had a canner 30 years ago, but with the COVID19 precautions, I have a garden and look for meat on sale to can. My freezer is full LOL I highly recommend doing a practice run with just 2 quarts of water in it, so you can see where the stove dials and burners that work with your pressure canner Youtube helps a lot to refresh memories and give great suggestions. Cheap - will do if you can't afford a stainless steel one, but save for a better pressure cooker!
Cheaply made (you get what you pay for), aluminum "stains" from its very first use regardless of what you cook, and these "stains" while clean and hope safe, will not come off! One is better off buying a stainless steel pressure cooker.
