The older you get the less memory costs.
Chips are used in cellphone and tablet and a lot of memory is not necessary. The adapter is used when the chip is used in my still camera. Have never had a "defective" SanDisk" of any size. The only CON is the small size. Extra care is necessary to avoid loss.
