These books are a great read for grades 4-7. This book is a fun book to read. It's a spoof of Hardy Boys Mysteries. While the Hardy Boys have a picture perfect home with the mentoring father, the mother that only worries appropriately, and friends that are super supportive Steve Brixton is the only child of a single mother (although she does have a dreaded boyfriend who is a cop), a friend who really doesn't want to be involved in solving mysteries and has to double as his brother, and an office in a doghouse. The books are well-written but there isn't a ton of depth. These books are meant to entertain and they do that beautifully. There's lots of action and humor. We checked these books out from the library; we liked them so much we decided to make them a permanent part of our home library.Read full review
