No voicemail
The system isn't too hard to set up, although the prompts are not very good. The only way to have voicemail is through your land line service provider. I do have that option with my service provider. However, It is practically impossible to program the system using the minimal instruction "book" that is included. One thing the book is adamant about is to call their help line before returning the product. When you call the number, you are told to go on line and find out how to connect your voicemail. When you go on line to their support section, the model number of this product isn't there. The system itself would be okay if you could go without the answering service option. This is the 21st century and in my opinion, technology is regressing. Phone systems used to be much easier to set up and have all the necessary items. Now they are overly optioned, they can do all kinds of things...hook up to your cell phone, program your directory etc. They probably can turn your dishwasher on when you're lying on the beach in Tahiti, but they don't do ALL of these things consistently well. Not bad for the money but could be better
Handsets are quirky. Flashing red light on them as though you have a recorded message. Seems like several other people have the same issue. Recommended fixes don't work. Sound quality could be better. some of the handsets can't adjust the volume of the ring or the other person's voice. This review is for the charger base only, although we have the entire set-up and it's pretty nice for a home phone system. The Uniden DECT 6.0 has a friendly built-in answering system, and supports up to 12 handsets.
