I don’t have an above ground pool but I use the filter-pump for my in ground koi pond. It provides the best filtration and flow for my waterfall thereby fulfilling a dual purpose for my pond. I had ordered a large easy set up pool that had this exact filter system. When I got the pool, which was supposed to be brand new, the pump didn't work. I found this pump which was also supposed to be new. Not all the parts were there, but fortunately I still had the previous pump set up/parts so I just used them. The pump itself works great and I am glad I bought it. Would have been nice to have had ALL the parts when I received it for the amount of money I spent on it. It would be nice if all the parts were in there but unfortunately I was missing a cap filter gasket. I managed to use the old one I had from my previous one but it’s an inconvenience and doesn’t really sit well. The machine is good, it has a timer and shuts off automatically.

Bought this to replace and upgrade my sfx 1000 which failed after only a few months. Worked great. No adapters needed. Only had to slightly enlarge the output hole in the side of the pool to fit the larger supplied output. Hooked hoses up, turned on, had my pool clean again in an hour or so. I did remove the internals of the old pump and cut the cord off but left the housing and strainer in place.
