  • Great Upgrade if using slower E-series Xeons.

If you purchased a cheap used motherboard, paired with anything less than 3GHZ, this will be a significant upgrade. I bought a dual socket motherboard with dual Xeon E5530's on it, clocked at 2.4ghz, and my server is a home media server, providing currently for Plex, VPN, and a Minecraft server. After awhile playing the Minecraft server, the map became so complex and large, that it began to run sluggishly. I researched, that Minecraft servers rely on faster single core performance, rather than multiple cores. So I checked here for upgrades and found these little CPUs for less than $30 for 2. Now my map runs smooth and without any delay, with very little expense to me. Without going to the 4.4ghz dual core that goes for like $1,100 each, this is the fastest you'll see for the socket 1366.

  • Powerful Budget Processor

Purchased this product for a budget gaming PC build, and it exceeded my expectations. In my particular build, I was able to achieve a stable 4.5 GHz (4.7 with TurboBoost) overclock. Combined with the popular Hyper 212 Evo, it has no cooling issues. All around, it is one of the best bang-for-buck CPUs for gaming (mine was $45).

  • Incredible value now

This CPU provides better performance than most budget builds. It hands down beats most pentiums and i3s and even some i5s.

  • Oldie but a Goodie. Excellent 4 core/8 thread CPU that is fast and strong.

It may be old but it's still relevant for computing and gaming. It's one of the lowest cost 4 core/8 thread CPUs you can find. It may even be unlocked for even better performance. Note: the Six Core version is better but this works just fine. You need a good heatpipe CPU coller or liquid cooling for this. A standard aluminum "chunk" heatsink will NOT work. You will run over 85C, which is NOT good.

  • Budget Mac Pro upgrade

Great value upgrade for the classic Mac Pro 5,1 tower. The 6-core X5690 version still sells for $100+ in 2019 while this 4-core version is a steal. If you don’t need so many cores, this is a great bargain.
