Nintendo's famed plumbers head to the resort-like Pi'illo Island for real-world adventures and surreal dream exploration in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. In true RPG fashion, gamers explore areas on the overworld map and engage in turn-based battles, all on a quest to rescue the perpetually imperiled Princess Peach and help Prince Dreambert remove a curse placed on his people by the bat king Antasma. Players will also meet a wide assortment of interesting characters and collect a variety of helpful items as they make their way around the island.
Some areas of Pi'illo contain special Pillow Portals that let Mario jump into the colorful dreams of Luigi, where dozens of smaller versions of Luigi can combine to help gamers reach new areas or defeat powerful foes. Players can also use their stylus to poke or tickle the sleeping Luigi on the lower touch screen in order to affect Mario's surroundings in the side-scrolling dream world of the upper screen. Giant boss battles return to the series, with gamers turning their 3DS in order to view Luigi in one screen and the large boss in the other, and players who get stuck can make use of a helpful hint system, or they can lower the challenge in Easy mode.
(DISCLAIMER: I HAVE NOT YET BEATEN THE GAME) I haven't played Superstar Saga, Partners in Time, or Bowser's Inside Story, but Dream Team so far has compelled me to, at some point, visit every one of its predecessors. The battles, overworld, dream world, writing, game mechanics, graphics, and aesthetic of this game are extremely compelling, as well as numerous more. The only things about the game that I dislike so far are the easiness (i.e. could be more challenging) and the infamous tutorials, which probably really only negatively affect those who have played every game in the series. These cons are of course small potatoes, and as such, paired with the many pros of the game, is why I would highly recommend Mario & Luigi: Dream Team to anyone who has a console in the 3DS family or is looking for a reason to buy one.Read full review
this RPG has solid gameplay like the other games in the series, and has deeper storytelling then out of all of the games.
I've always loved this title from the first time I played it ever since it came out. I'm just thankful that I was able to re-experience a great title yet again at a great price, and in 3 days or less. It puts a smile on my face to have opportunities like this
Excellent game with loads of fun laced throughout!
Great game, its good for those Mario and Luigi lovers of games. Reminds me of super Mario world and the like. It's one of those games that would be great for a younger child or the Mario enthusiast. This game is quite easy, and is one of those that is perfect for the "in between" moments in life, like waiting for a bus, or on a lunch break or something like that. Great game. Perfect for what the game is intended for. Great buy.
We love our 3DS consoles! We play a variety of games from Super Smash Bros. And Mario Party to Pokémon and Monster Hunter and all of the gameplay experiences thus far have been great! Support for wifi and local via Bluetooth makes multiplayer simple and effective. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for wireless gaming on the go or at home on the couch.
Product looked as if it had barely been used. It was in such great condition and included the original case and booklet inserts. Game is in perfect condition and the game works well!
