Great processor with a very minor issue
It is a great processor with a very simple caveat. When purchasing this processor I took it for granted that the stock fan would be enough to cool the processor and keep in great working order. I found out quickly unless I went into the BIOS and changed the fan to a higher speed that the processor would quickly and easily after about 10 min overheat. Having to ramp up the speed on the stock cpu fan gets noisy fast. To fix this problem is very simple and inexpensive. It is necessary to purchase an (Arctic Freezer 33 eSports ONE) cpu cooler. This cpu heat sink uses heat pipes and a super silent fan to keep the noise way down. You don't need an expensive water cooling unit. This setup is also geared for overclocking the cpu to around 4.0 ghz.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Awesome Gaming CPU
The Ryzen 5 2600 is a fantastic CPU from AMD for gamers. It's got 6 cores and 12 threads of awesome performance to throw at any game you want. It pairs very well with any graphics card including higher end cards which allows you to get maximum FPS numbers with high settings. Great Product
Although I was willing to wait for the new ryzen 5 5600 that is coming out in 2021 I couldn't wait for my school needs and well... obviously gaming. I paired it with my gigabyte b450 Mobo, 16gb ram and Radeon rx570 and it's working flawlessly as anticipated. Good bang for the buck processor.
Perhaps its not the fastest processor, but bang for the buck its hard to beat. Runs games smoothly, and more importantly for me transcodes video much faster than my old Core I-5 4th Gen. My Ryzen 5 1600 was good. The Ryzen 5 2600 is better!

Great processor. have not put it to the test in overclocking yet. but have confidence in AMD products. have the 6 core FX 6100 and this kills it.
