Great tool.
I will preface to say I am a DeWalt fan. I bought in the batteries so I figured we keep up with it and try this jig saw out. I have the old d-handle but wanted a brushless. This saw is comfortable, more than powerful enough with my 5ah and flexvolt batteries. This Design Is Better
I thought that 'barrel' design was odd, but when i researched it I found out that it was highly favored. Based on that, I got it. i agree with others that when you try this design you will not go back to the other. This design is much easier to use and control the cut. Never going back

Then I open the box, the tool looks to the eye in good shape, then I start inspecting it, and pieces of metal fall out. Internal parts. So, no, it didn't get damaged in shipping. The exterior looks great. But locking mechanisms don't work. Someone really broke this tool and that's why it's so cheap... Very good.
Tons better than a cheap Ryobi one. It doesn't tilt when you apply a little uneven force, unlike the Ryobi one that does. The quick change mechanism is very nice. The quality is very sturdy. Expensive but worth every penny. There is no hard case for 335b, but if you have an extra drill case from Dewalt, a little modification will get you a nice case.

As a professional carpenter I found this barrel jig saw a valuable tool for various applications in remodeling. It's not the lightest jig saw but its convenience is well worth the investment. I'm running the 4ah 20v battery that came with this tool and this gives me more than a whole day worth of use. To make this tool lighter, I will swap the battery out for a smaller Ah battery. There are many times that while using this saw that I'm cutting from the bottom side of my work piece that I wish they would have installed a switch to turn off the light as it shines directly into my eyes while cutting.
