  • Actual purchase was a Lenovo Thinkpad T430, totally love it!

The seller offered me an upgrade for the same price. This is the first ThinkPad I have owned. I knew they were super modular and durable, and this lives up to its reputation. I totally love the keyboard, which I am quite surprised with. Everything works as expected. I like it so much I upgraded the hard drive and the memory. Windows 7 is ok, but I'm using and learning Linux on it, and am having a great time. There are tons of how-to vids on gootube and the Lenovo site is pretty helpful, you can always get answers in their forum. A fully charged battery lasted 1:15 hours then it was down to 15%. Replacement batteries are $30-40 on ebay. So far, I only had one minor problem, but you should be aware! All of the specs on this machine indicate you can install 2.5" hard drives with a thickness of 7mm (original hd) or a 9.5mm but use adapter rubber rails. Well the 9.5 drive barely fit, there was no space for the adapter rails so I wasted $4 on that. 9.5mm drives really don't fit this properly, but I took a risk and just shoved it in there good and it works just fine. I managed to find a 1Tb 7200 rpm drive for under $70. I also got the hard drive caddy to insert the old hd into the dvd slot, as a backup or extra storage. I highly recommend getting a ThinkPad but do your research on the model and applicable software, operating systems, upgrades, etc. before buying. Put this in your search window to get to a great site for all things ThinkPad: "ThinkPad History - ThinkWiki"
