Reasonably priced monitor saved the day for video editing-great bang for the buck on text and olor.
I previously had a 27 inch 5k retina imac but when I upgraded to a mac studio I went to a 34 inch 5k LG ultra wide which was not quite the retina experience but it was good. I also had a 27 inch apple cinema and a 27 inch thunderbolt. All three of those monitors died, two by cable death and the 34 inch by rough car travel. I do intensive video editing but can not yet afford the apple studio monitors so as a stop gap I found this 27 inch LG 850 and I have to say, I really like it. It has the same look and feel as the 34 5k I had but remarkably, the quality of the text and colors and clarity is as good. I am told the ultrawide give up something in quality even at the same resolution and I have found that to be true. I found a great deal on this one on ebay but I think I would be satisfied at even a higher price point. The usbc cable hook up doesn't really work so I have to go display port to usbc, that would be my only slight complaint.
