What IS wrong with the MyBook...
This is my second MyBook. This one has a problem because of the USB 3.0 slot in the back of the device. It doesn't hold the cable very well; the cable slips out very easily. My first Book had a different slot (port?) and worked better. Other than this, I like it very much. Bought to use it to repair a filed unit
This is the second unit of Western Digital My Book 3TB I have bought only because I needed its parts to repair the previous one bought to back up my computer, t failed and I lost access to my data. The good news is that I fixed the failed unit and it is working now. I am looking for a more reliable backup solution now.

My Book TB3
I'm sure this is a great back up product, but it is not compatible with Microsoft back up. I have not been able to perform even one back up, as it always stalls at the same completion percentage. Great external drive, small downsides
Fast, silent, realiable. Only a couple of small issues. The usb connector on the hard drive almost didn't fit right, I had to force it more than you would expect. It occupies less space on the desk because it's larger vertically, but for that it's easier to accidently knock it down. Since it's a disk drive, I'd prefer it to be a 'horizontal' design. Good Sized Simple Storage
I only had the Book for less that a month. So far it has been performing very well. Mine is connected to my Apple MacBook Pro 15 and it working flawlessly. The only think I don't like is the lack of an on-off switch. So I disconnect the DC plug when I need to shut it off. Not a big deal since the thing is on all the time.
