About this product

Product Information

Play a warlord in a Japanese feudal-era setting in Pokemon Conquest for the Nintendo DS. Developed by Koei in 2012, this unique game takes you to the world of Ransei, where you are accompanied by an Eevee, a rabbit-eared Pokemon that resembles a fennec fox. Your goal, as warlord of the region of Aurora, is to unite the 17 kingdoms of the region through conquest, and to do this you must defeat a series of warlords and add them to your party. This game is different from other games in that every Pokemon is only capable of using a single move. When all regions have been united, you will then have the chance to face the legendary Pokemon who created the world of Ransei.

  • Surreal Conquest

This game is a surreal experience and extremely bizarre crossover that seems to actually work pretty well. Some of the pokemon who are paires with some of the samurai warrior characters are a bit unusual but the gameplay more than makes up for it and does the trick for any fan of strategic rpg style gameplay. This game came out a bit late in the ds life cycle and probably would have been more compelling if made for the 3ds with a more militaristic army of soldiers and pokemon mechanice but that is all that holds this game back. This game lacks absolutely nothing for a 3ds game.

  • Best Pokémon Spin-off

Conquest is the unknown spin-off game of Pokémon that is an absolute blast to play. The different battle mechanics from the main series games and the lack of needing the touch screen like Pokémon Ranger makes it already an amazing thing to play. I absolutely love how the sprites and artwork of the Pokémon look and the music really grows on ya after multiple hours of gameplay. The story is definitely more unique than others and it’s very satisfying when you conquer/protect a kingdom. The only thing I have against this game is the Post-game content; which is so much longer than any Pokémon game’s post-story content. You will spend what feels like an eternity on over 30 Warlord stories and need to fulfill specific conditions in order to complete that story. The final story of Conquest is more of a victory lap since this is the first game where you can obtain and use Arceus; without any form of coding, action replay, etc. . Some mechanics make the game frustrating to play; like weather effects that hinder your Pokémon’s performance, having to get every warlord/warrior via battling across 30+ stories, and the possibility of them becoming ill or leaving your army; which is prob the worst of what can happen to you. The biggest sin this game has is no playground mode when you complete the final story. No going across any of the 30+ stories with the 17 kingdoms to have a chance to get every warrior and warlord with their perfect link without the need of story, no guarantee that they won’t suddenly leave; none of the post game mechanics that’s in Pokémon main games. You have 30+ stories to get every warrior and warlord their perfect link Pokémon and once you beat the game: you beat it. Conquest definitely deserves to be played and seriously needs a revival for just how good the game actually is.

  • good game

I rented this game a while after it was released and came to like it and decided to wait a while on purchasing it and just didn't get around to purchasing it until a month ago and liking how it performs and the codes still work.

  • Great game. Fair price

Fun game and change up from regular Pokémon games. End game can be kind of tedious and repetitive, but still fun and very enjoyable

  • Odd Yet Satisfying

Another spin-off for pokemon and oddly enough its wonderful. In short its mechanics plays similarly to final fantasy tactics and devil survivor if your a fan of either series you'll definitely enjoy this one and if you want to know if your kids would be interested in similar game-play. This is a wonderful friendlier start then the two previous chooses.
