About this product

Product Information

The Jasmine S-35 acoustic guitar is an elegant piece of craftsmanship that has a sound all its own. The body of this instrument is designed in the classic dreadnought acoustic guitar style that gives it excellent sound and presence. The tone of this Jasmine guitar is bold and resonant with booming bass and bright treble. Whether you strum, fingerpick, or flat pick, the sustain and volume of this guitar help make it a great instrument choice for intimate performances and recordings. Designed exclusively for Jasmine by the skilled artisans at Takamine, this quality acoustic guitar will last a lifetime. The performance of this acoustic only improves with age, and it will make a fine addition to your guitar collection. The exceptional quality of the S-35 Jasmine acoustic guitar can be attributed to the right combination of woods used in the construction of its body. The top is made of spruce for enhanced resonance and warm bass. Each string rings out with silky perfection across the entire register with as much attack as an electric model. The bass end is rich with lots of depth, and the treble tone range is incredibly bright and crisp all along the neck. This acoustic has the feel of a nylon string classical guitar. The guitar features an agathis back and sides for the right amount of strength, and the fingerboard and bridge are made of rosewood. The slim neck of this model affords excellent comfort. There is a synthetic bone nut and saddle, and the S-35 has a scale length of 25.5 inches. Twenty frets give you plenty of room on each string to improvise hot solo licks that will make your music stand apart. Each fret on this acoustic guitar from Takamine makes playing a pleasure. The action of each string is perfect right out of the box and comparable to that of an electric guitar. The width of each fret on the neck is generous and amenable to playing complex chord shapes. Jasmine has made this model in such a way that it suits many styles of guitar music ranging from rock to jazz. Dreadnought guitars are prized for their versatility in addition to their natural sound. A beginner will appreciate this acoustic guitar for its ease of play, and the experienced guitarist will recognize its exceptional durability and sound. The strength of this Jasmine acoustic guitar stems from the use of proprietary Jasmine advanced "X" bracing. Not only does this bracing contribute to the overall sound of this acoustic, it also makes the instrument more resistant to wear and tear. The bracing offers added value for the beginner, letting them play this instrument vigorously without worry. Each string holds a tune very well even after hours of play. The finish of this Takamine acoustic guitar is natural with a satin quality. The classical look of Jasmine acoustic guitars hearkens back to a time when the acoustic guitar was prized for its simplicity and purity of tone. Many accessories like a string winder or a case are also available to enhance the enjoyment of your Jasmine instrument. Other accessories for your acoustic guitar include straps and capos.

  • not bad for a beginner

First let me state I am a beginner and this is only my opinion. It feels good in the hand has a wonderful full rich tone to it. Nothing like the other beginner guitars I have bought. I don't think I will be looking for another for awhile. I'm very happy with mine. Its not to hard to push down the strings to make a chord.

  • Amazing

I love this guitar, it's easy to play even though I'm a beginner and for the most part stays in tune. Part of my guitar lesson is to start out tuning the guitar anyway so I'm not complaining. My teacher even approves so I know its good, he actually had it for his first guitar too. I would definitely recommend. I saw the same guitar in the music store for over $400 so $70 was an amazing deal for the brand new guitar. Packaging was great too !

  • Good finish, machines are adequate but the neck needed attention.

There are a lot of more inexpensive guitars than this one so I was hoping to get some return for the extra money in fit and form and I believe I got it. The finish is very good for the price and the machines are adequate. There was a lot of buzzing at first and using the included allen wrench to straighten the neck and viola, a well playing instrument for around $100. Invest in a Luthier's straight edge to get full use from this and any other guitars you may possess, the one I bought was $17.00.

  • Cheap but awesome

We shot my last "Camping guitar" with a shotgun a few months ago after the bracing inside it became unglued and the bridge pulled sky high..It was a cheap Johnson guitar. So I bought this on the word of a friend who plays Takamine guitars, the parent company of Jasmine..Mine is a "blem" for less than $50. The blem was a little bit of glue on the top of it by the bridge..Who cares..Its clear glue...The rest of it is really a beautiful guitar. The sides are really cool looking and it sounds SO GOOD. Really full and bright. Intonation is on. I did have to tweak the truss rod..But that's what its there for. In hind site, Tuners hold there tuning.. I wish I would have shot the Johnson 5 years ago. The tone and play ability alone were worth the $50. I like this better than my buddies $150 Fender. Would totally recommend to someone! I'm a pro level bass player and weekend warrior dirtbike riding guitar player..Brraapp!

  • Best a novice could ask for

Very good guitar for the price. Just to note, I'm an amateur guitarist and a college student (class of COVID represent) so the concept of a "high-end guitar" is completely beyond me. That being said, this definitely does the job since I seem to be playing it a lot more than my old guitar that I bought for around the same price at a music store a few years back. The plastic stand that comes with it is pretty convenient. I've had this thing for a short time, but its tuning is pretty stable for the most part. (I play for at least an hour a day, but I only need to tune it once every 3-4 days or so).

  • Super Guitar

I bought this for my great-nephew in Maine as he wanted to learn the acoustical guitar since he already had the electric guitar down. He goes everywhere with the acoustic guitar and absolutely loves it.

  • Great beginner guitar

For the price it is a well made and a good sounding guitar. Because of the high saddle that came on the guitar the strings were a bit high for conformable playing but that was solved by replacing the original with a better grade saddle and some lighter gauge strings. Very satisfied with the purchase.

  • So-So

It sounds legit..But a Couple of the strings on different frets don't work right it will rumble. The body makes it awkward, tougher to play as you go down the frets. but otherwise for the price it is a great purchase.

  • Good for beginner, to accomplished guitarist.

Strings are steel, holds it's tuning fairly well even after a week of play.

  • 2 months and have problems

I got this guitar for 2 months, and I feel really good at the beginning, with this price, you can't find a better one. But start from one month ago, the first string, 11 fret sounds the same with 12 fret. And Then getting worse, right now 7 to 14 fret all stay the same tone with 14th fret. I checked the neck and found it's curved, But back to straight after 15th fret, that's why it's back to normal after 15th fret. I am pretty sure I treat it nicely everytime when i play and place. And the temperature and humidity is good because i never bring it outside. Don't know what to do with it now.
