  • Its okay

The Hamilton 12-String Guitar Capo is better than others I have tried on my guitar. its a solid piece and I don't see it hurting my guitar any time soon. However The amount of pressure that it can put on the strings is very limited and even though it has enough power to barre most my strings I could not get it tight enough to completely barre off the low E set.

  • Double your budget, decide on a design, read reviews and keep looking. Aight?

It is a bargain priced capo which serves that function adequately or slightly better on most electric guitars without a thick neck. Old style neck profiles like D, U or even a deep V it may prove too small to fit. I have made it work on a couple acoustics, but this would be too narrow for a classical guitar. It's suitable for informal playing, but not up to the quick change demands of live performance. For guitars with a small enough neck, it is overqualified for the various setup and repair applications of a capo. It's not a shabby example of the strength of the "yoke" design in that turning the screw to set tension does make for less (or no) need for re-tuning either during or after use. I enjoy it at home. Should you get one? Well, re-read what I said and decide. I don't know your needs.

  • GREAT CAPO / EXCELLENT VALUE

THIS A TERRIFIC CAPO. FITS ANY GUITAR, ELECTRIC OR ACOUSTIC. PLUS... I DO'NT KNOW IF THIS COUNTS... BUT I LOVE THE PRICE TOO. OVERALL EXCELLENT VALUE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

  • Nice capo.

The capo actually makes my acoustic brighter. Tried it against four other capo's and it is quite noticeable. I suppose it is due to the weight because it is a relatively heavy capo compared to clip on styles. I wouldn't use it for electric but you could.

  • Not for all necks.

The capo only fits smaller necked guitars. The guitars it does fit, it works fine. Of my six guitars (all acoustic, Martin, Takamine and Taylor) it only fits two of them.

  • Hamilton Capo - a great addition to your arsenal!

I like the Hamilton Guitar Capo (screw down clamp KB19). It is a great value compared to other similar designed capos. It has an old school kind of look and it works very well. The other feature is that it can be kept on the guitar when not using it by placing it above the nut, so you know it is there at all times in case you want to use it, you don't have to look far to find it!

  • not my choice of capo for my need

I need /want a capo to go over the nut when not being used, and these do not fit over the nut when not in use. I wont be using them. I'll give them away to kids just learning to play.

  • Great Guitar Capo

A wonderful Guitar Capo, good design, proven over the years by many artist for their go to Capo. Try it, I think you will be satisfied with it. It has a pad on the back so it will not scratch the neck & easily releases when you are finished using it.

  • $5 Capo is great for old necks

This is exactly what I needed for my 100 year old Oscar Schmidt. It has a wide flat fretboard with a deep V neck. My Kyser capo would really make tuning a chore by fitting poorly and really mashing the strings. This capo is just right for dialing in the right amount of pressure. This is what you need if you have an old fat necked geetar.
