  • A solid, if not underappreciated, gaming keyboard offering from Corsair

If you eat or drink around your keyboard and have a tendency of spilling things, this might be the keyboard for you. It is designed to be water resistant, not water proof. There are videos of people pouring gallons of water, even spraying a garden hose into their Corsair K68 keyboards. It's no trick or gimmick. There is a rubber or silicon membrane beneath the keyboard cover plate that run up to just beneath each keycap. This prevents liquids from entering the sensitive areas of the keyboard - main circuit board and switches. However, if you remove any of the keycaps or turn the board upside down after spraying it, liquid may get in. The membrane generally does a very good job in keeping liquids out, however, it also affects the typing experience. If you like the feel of Cherry MX red switches, this keyboard has you covered, but the membrane does mute the sound of the keycaps striking home and rebounding. It also might produce a slight mushy typing feel since it is directly beneath each and every keycap. Some people won't notice it, but if you have a Corsair K70 for comparison, you will notice the difference right away. I think only typing purists will shy away from this keyboard. Most of its features are geared towards gamers anyway. My only real complaint is that it was never offered with other Cherry MX switches, as I prefer brown switches over the lighter actuating reds.

  • 9/10, has everything but extra macro keys.

Quality keyboard that's worth the money. Tactile response is very good, not very hard to set up keyboard profile, took me like 30 minutes to get a color scheme I like. The only thing you could possibly ding the keyboard for is not having extra macro keys. For someone like me who's not really in the market for macros, it's perfect, though for some people who want to use it for gaming, it might be a blind spot. Other than that, it's fantastic.
