So easy !
I bought this tool from a fellow bike builder's recommendation. All I can say is "WOW" ! I takes the work/struggle out of taking the speed links out. If you have too wrestle with these links then you need this tool. I bought 2,one for my bike repair stand and one for my bike tool pouch in my hydration backpack. Really Necessary
I changed the chain on my bike, replacing it with a KMC X9.93 chain and had a lot of trouble with the "quick" link. Although I was finally able to get it on, I decided to go ahead and get the MLP-1.2 pliers. I used the pliers to make sure that the quick link was in place thoroughly, and I can see that the job would have been MUCH easier if I had bought it earlier. Live and Learn. Master the master link
I decided to put a master link in my bike chain to make it easy to remove and clean. Getting the link together was okay but then I discovered that I had fed the chain through the rear jockey wheel incorrectly. Try and try but I couldn't separate the master link. Sure beats using a chain tool.

Good to have
This job can be done with wires, needle-nosed pliers, etc. And I may resort to those tactics in the field if a chain fails. But at home when I'm doing adjustments and chain work on my own and others' recumbent trikes, this tool makes it SO much easier and faster. As well as the usual Park Tool quality. I've only used it once so far but it worked like a charm! I have been using needle nosed pliers and screw drivers and driving myself nuts for the past couple years so this was a nice change.
