It sold my d700 and get one of this. The portability is awesome, literally awesome. But there one drawback It is not as fast as normal dslr lens. Mainly because it is drives my motors. It extract a little bit slow, changing focus length a bit slow. But really, no big deal! Focusing is great, extremely fast. Well made, good construction. Compare with my Sony 1650, this one is like a Leica lens. Seller is great. I get my packegage real quick. the damn amazon Japan did not ship my lens for two weeks and even did not tell me. eBay is a good place to buy!

  • Compact and Ready When You Need It

I replaced my 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 II with this EZ lens. I didn't like having to manually extend the old lens every time I turned on the camera. Also, the much smaller size of the EZ lens makes my EPM-2 very compact. Now the lens extends whenever I turn on the camera and the JJC lens cap I bought opens automatically. Optically, the lens is decent, on par with the one it replaced, but I use prime lenses as much as possible. This little lens works well on vacations or when I slip the camera into my coat pocket and head out the door.

  • Nice lens for the price I paid.

I haven't closely examined pictures taken with the IIR and EZ, but I don't notice any difference from a practical standpoint. I would probably still use the IIR just because I prefer the manual zoom control. But, the EZ makes the camera more portable (fits in my coat pocket), which is why I bought it. It's worth the $150 I paid. I would not pay $300 for it since I do have the IIR. I saved a little bit of money getting the Silver color. It would look better on a silver OMDE10M2 (mine is all black), but it works. It extends and closes automatically with turning the camera on and off, which is nice. The IIR must be extended/retracted manually. Haven't had it long enough to vouch for its durability. I would recommend the lens to a friend.

  • Good value

A small useful zoom that compliments the small size of the EM5 II. My 12-40mm f/2.8 pro is a superior lens, but its large and heavy. For walking around, travel and the grand kids its great Without pixel peeping, the results are very good. With the 5 axis image stabilization in the camera, the max aperture of 3.5 is fine. I've shot at 1/4th second exposure hand-held and the results are sharp. Highly recommended as a casual, convenient and light weight lens.

  • Best all round lens for most people.

This lens will cover around 80% of the everyday requirements of most amateur photographers. For full-frame shots, if the light is good, you will require significant enlargement to notice any difference between its results and those from the PRO series lenses. I know, I've checked.

  • Great compact-sized lens

This is the perfect complement for the already compact micro four thirds mirrorless cameras! Outstanding optics in a very small package! I love it.

  • Great lens in an very small package

Great image quality throughout the zoom range. The limitations are minor considering the form factor of this lens. Plus, keep it real, we don't shoot with the intent to create a 23x30 work of art with this lens. So, for what it was designed to do and considering how well it does it, just get one if you think you want one. I see no reason to get the larger older style non-ez lens over this one. The compact form factor just makes this a double bonus. The entire camera and lens fit into my jeans pocket!!!

  • Just what I was looking for.

I already had the regular 14-42 but wanted to try this EZ version because of the size. I works great. Good images and definitely makes my EPL5 more pocketable. Just what I was looking for.

  • A Very Good Lens, but shop around for the best price!

A Very Good product, but then Olympus has always made high quality products. Shop around though. You can find varying pricing on this product. I use this lens on my Aerial Drone and it works great.
