Birkenstock by far are the best shoes made in the world. The cork foot bed and the leather makes these sandals to most comfortable sandals you will ever purchase. I own several pairs of Birkenstock shoes and I love them all.
I swear by Birkenstock sandals. I have worn them now for about 30 years. I love the soft foot bed. It creates a slipper like feel once broken in. I generally have between 3 and 6 pair on the go. I particularly like the weathered look of the oil rubbed leather ones. I generally get 12 to 18 months of daily wear from a pair. When they start to get ratty and really worn, I demote them to "WorkinStocks" for use in the garden, yard work or or any other grubby task.
Note my pics. 3 pair of WorkinStocks in various stages of wear, To pair of day to day with one of the newer pair having been put into service just about a month previous. The ones with White dust are the ones I'm wearing while renoing my basement. That's drywall dust and primer on them.
These were display shoes so were unworn but a tiny bit scuffed. I do like the soft footbed. The fit and construction are the usual high Birkenstock quality.
