  • Fits my needs

First off, I want to mention some of the reviews I've read, one in particular that was very informative. Most reported slow speed when using power line adapters and almost convinced me to go a different route. Then I came across the most important review when one guy experimented with where you install the sending and receiving unites. He was correct. It helps to be on the same beaker and same phase. I have 100mbps down and was only getting 31mbps on my initial set up. Then I moved the sending unit and got 61-64 down. Upon moving the receiving unit to an outlet that I know sends power up from the cellar, that is near the other outlet, I am now getting 114mbps down. If I run a 100' cat-5 across the house and hard wire directly I get 114mbps down. The other mistake I made up front was plugging the sender into a power-strip, that's a huge no-no. That's why the pass through is on the sending unit.

  • Worked great.

I used this to extend an existing power-line network. When I paired this with the existing sender, I lost the connection to the existing receiver. I found that I needed to pair all three at the same time then move them to their intended location. After that all three worked perfectly. This is a great lost cost solution to extending your high-speed internet.

  • Reliable and good value.

I had a lower quality other brand to run my weather station from the far end of the house, beyond reliable wireless range. It always seemed to show it was having problems through the house wiring.. The AV1200 never shows errors and has ben extremely reliable.
