If you have a Square D Homeline electrical breaker panel then this is the easiest way to get whole house surge protection. You simply install this in the panel as you would a double pole breaker and voila you have protection. You also have to attach the included white neutral wire to your neutral bus bar. My only issue was that it is recommended that the surge breaker be installed as close as possible to the main power lugs (where power enters your panel) and I had to move my 30A double pole clothes dryer breaker to another position. This was very easy to accomplish.
