  • 3rd times the charm!

Came right on time in perfect packing. This was my first ever CPU upgrade but I watched a lot YouTube videos preparing for this. It’s very intimidating at first. All the warning of ‘over tightening will brick your system. It’s nerve racking I personally had to install it 3 times. 1st time I didn’t even have the right cpu heat sync on straight! 2nd time it was just more tightening. 3rd restart and I had no issues! Worked perfectly! No loud fans, no red lights. My mid 2012 immaculate pro is now fully maxed out. Thank you for such a great product!

  • Great older CPU, runs very cool.

Great old CPU. Despite being a 130 watt, six-core one, it runs amazingly cool. A very noticeable improvement over an old i7-950 on both single-core & multi-core applications. Doesn't compare too well with a more modern CPU of its class of course, but if you want to put together something cheap & fairly capable, building an old X58 system around this would do quite nicely. A good GPU match up would probably be the high-end GTX 1xxx series or mid-range RTX 2xxx series at best. Or an AMD equivalent, of course. Absolutely worth it if you can get it for $100 or less!

  • 3.46 GHZ Mac Pro upgrade

Easy install! Perfect performance. No freezes, no problems, not once. Saved a ton of money compared to other CPU upgrade options. The install kit includes everything you need. If you can change a video card and ram, you can make this change too... the performance improvement is tangible! Note: also went from 64gb of ram to 128.

  • Lets me keep on keeping on til the chip shortage is gone

Kept my old girl running after my original processor started to die due to just subsidence from age. If this generation runs a flat 130w regardless, might as well run the top of the line for only a few dollars more than what I was running, and since I'm not OC'ing, no need to go with an i7 990x. After repasting, it's running quite a bit cooler to boot
