  • The MT-32 is awesome. A must-have for retro computer fans.

I have dreamed of getting an MT-32 for years - it’s great to finally have one. My biggest fear in buying it was that it would be difficult to hook up - I bought it with the intent of playing retro PC games via ScummVM, and didn’t know how difficult that would be in interfacing it with modern hardware. However, I just hooked up the MIDI input to my FastLane USB, and it recognized and worked perfectly. Make sure if you’re using it with ScummVM to check the “True Roland MT-32” setting - otherwise, it will send General MIDI signals to the device and play generally incorrect sounds.

  • Parts? Worked perfectly with correct power supply

Fired it up with some classic midi tracts, sound ed great. Looking forward to using it with some classic Sierra games.

  • Authentic MIDI experience for retro gaming

Enjoy the authentic MIDI experience for retro gaming, the way it was meant to be. The later model provides very handy headphone jack and self test program as well. Only downside for the later model is that some games require the original model to sound 100% correct. However, earlier models have other bugs, so I find the later model to be a perfect middle-ground experience.

  • Great for some legendary ms-dos soundtracks!

A little complex to get working correctly, but once you do its dos music like you've never experienced before. Emulation comes close, but there is no substitution for the real thing. Plus it looks great on modern desks too.
