Digital 8 camcorders were for $300 at the end of their lifecycle, with better lenses and zoom clarity than their now $300 "HD" camcorder counterparts, made by the same company! I find myself using both at the same time, this for the zoom, and the "HD" not for the zoom! And the texture of the person I find better on the tape, as the digital color lacks the vibrance to me.
