  • Glad to be able to record broadcast TV

The over-the-air channels look better when pulled in by the Tablo. The commercial skip feature doesn't seem to work but the fast forward does. Since I have been on streaming only on so many other devices I glad I can at least fast-forward through the commercials.

  • Exactly what I needed.

The Tablo was just what I needed to record late night shows but also movies that might not be available to stream. But itsalso great to have the app that allows me to send the live antenna TV via wifi to TVs that I can't connect to the antenna. I like the app. It's easy to use and has nice features like commercial skip and allows extra time recording before or after the show begins.

  • Works great after proper setup

The Tablo functions very well, BUT you must have an antenna suitable for your location and have it pointed in the direction of the transmitters, ALSO you must use a fully functional USB hard drive if you intend to pause and playback programs, as well as skipping commercials. Those features are the primary idea behind having a DVR versus viewing directly from an antenna. After you've used a properly functioning DVR it's unlikely that you'll ever go back to live over-the-air television. The Tablo fills the bill. The Dual Lite is a network DVR meaning that you can use it over wired Ethernet connections or Wi-Fi but there is no HDMI port to connect directly to a television set. We use laptops to receive the signal and have HDMI cables from the laptop to a HDTV, or you can just view programming directly on a laptop or a tablet if you prefer. My Tablo is connected directly to my Wi-Fi router with an Ethernet jumper. I know about the pitfalls because I tried using a 64GB USB thumb drive and that was a big fail. Thumb drives are not intended for fast rewriting and they stall badly. When I plugged in a USB hard disk it made a world of difference. An outdoor antenna is mandatory where I live and that combined with a quality amplified signal splitter gives us solid distortion free signals. Recording and playback performed fluidly from that point on. If you live close to the transmitters (<10 miles) you may be able to pick up what you want with an indoor antenna.

  • Great performer!

I like the product overall however I wish the online guide was included with the product instead of costing money after 30 days. Overall it was very easy to set up and it does a great job! I purchased the dual light, and only intend to use it as it is without hooking up a hard drive to use the DVR function, and probably won't use the commercial skip function for recorded channels which is an extra cost as well. The only thing like I indicated previously is I wish that the channel guide was a part of the service free of cost.

  • This DVR is the greatest for Over The Air viewing

This OTA DVR is second smartest purchase after I bought my antenna. It makes cutting the cord a no brainer. Spend the monthly charge of 5$ for the easy to use guide so you can see what’s coming in the month ahead. Record and watch when it suites you! Pause live TV and rewind or fast forward! Oh Canada you have a good product here!

  • Great Seller.... Great Product ...

It is a great product at a super price! It arrived exceptionally fast too. Though the manufacturer recommended that the TABLO be used with a high capacity external hard drive, it works just fine with a 32G Jump Drive. Much more efficient than my TIVO that it replaced. I highly recommend this Seller too.

  • Amazing little gizmo

Although I have some Techno experience...this was pretty frustrating to set up and work through issues. The set-up booklet could have better instructions. I did eventually call Tablo for assistance and was able to work through set-up. Once it was up and running maneuvering through the system is pretty easy when connected to Amazon Fire. Only issue now is...although I can get many channels with antenna direct to TV...once I hook up Tablo...my options are greatly reduced..even with an amplifier. The channel guide is a must and recording pretty simple to set. I'm feeling that once I work through minor issues it will be 5 stars.

  • Great gadget! Takes a few minutes to set up properly. Records with hard drive in USB connection. Skips commercials! Well worth the money!

I have only 30 mps of internet speed and it does buffer now and then. Any problems can be easily solved by calling Tablo. They are very helpful and solve any and all possible problems which are usually caused by our own misunderstanding. They are still in beta mode for the various new things that they will eventually make our usage much easier and our viewing more pleasureable. I recommend using a cooler fan (cost about $15) because the Tablo does get rather warm. I puchased a dual fan which plugs into the USB port, so I had to buy a USB splitter to use for both items ($3.00). My advice to everyone is you intend to keep OTA then pay for the lifetime subscription from Tablo. Much cheaper in the long haul ($150.00). We are quite content with our present setup and will be OTA fans forever. Great pictures and 64 channels in our (Phoenix) area. Saving $150-200 a month.

  • Does Not Work

I've been trying for over a week to hook this thing up with no luck. I have spoken to the company several times & they tell me it is working fine but my internet is not connecting with it. Considering all the money I've spent on the device, a new antenna, & the storage unit, I have wasted a lot of money on something that isn't working for me. I am beyond upset.
