I am a bit of a Shimano fan boy, but only because I have owned many, many brands and I've only ever been dissatisfied with one of their reels. This Scorpion definitely doesn't disappoint! It fishes/feels exactly like my Curado 201k, but loaded with 12lb fluoro on that smaller spool, I can cast light baits a mile with minimal issues. First day out with it, I caught my PB largemouth, 5.82#. The reel handled it well, drag was smooth, I just need more money to get another one!

All I’ve had were Daiwa Tatulas and anyone that knows about them knows the performance. Here the Shimano Scorpion MGL my first Shimano reel ever. Loved the smoothness of it but wasn’t getting the distance in my cast I wanted. Tinkered with it a bit and found the centrifugal tabs on the inside tweaked with it a bit casted every time I adjust anything. When I figured out the whole concept I was shocked. Better casting than my tatulas even finesse kind of lures. Highly recommend and worth the money.
