  • OK by me---brand new user

I deboxed it. Plugged it in to/for WINDOWS 10 X64bit, Windows don't see nothing....I am not surprised. BUT surprise [!] the thing ROBOTS to a FIrmware update online and RUNS the FIRMWARE update for you. SO get it? NOW the router is seeing WIndows 10 A-OK, I was in business and put the devices on it --2 phones, a Fire tablet, a Stream laptop and 2 workstations. That is all you need to do... I DID NOT install the CDROM stuff. I know that can be INVOLVED for novice CONSUMER level users like me....so WHY BOTHER ? ? ? I will not mess with success. I like the FULL MONTY WIFI with CHARTER---This router is superior in performance to the 1750AC router I had. This thing has more power than the 1750AC Level it replaced and I am glad to get 3 [three] bands to use with ALL THE DEVICES we got I can spread them out and PW some difficult if I want, and or surf from band to band easily in WIndows 10....why not ????

  • Excellent router. Works all over my 2 story house, down into the basement and in the yard.

Pluses: Excellent router. Works all over my 2 story house and down into the basement. Also works in the yard. Even the 5 GHz band, which only worked within 30 feet of the old routers. This replaces 2 other routers I formerly used for coverage. Speeds appear better but I have not take quantitative data there. Minuses: Very expensive. Borderline poor value. REALLY poor configuration tools and in box documentation

  • Powerful router with easy setup!

This is my second ASUS router. The setup was amazingly simple and only took a few minutes. The fact that you have multiple wireless networks as an option is a huge bonus for my needs. The signal is strong anywhere in my two story home (3100 sq ft), better than any wireless router I have used before. The USB ports are a bonus too! I have attached an external hard drive and am able to use it to store files for any device. There are tons more features that make this router a 10 in my book. I would recommend this router to anyone who needs superb coverage over a large area.

  • Incredible Router

Costs a bit more money but well worth it when it comes to the speed and range you get. I do not regret for a second spending the money on this router. My internet plan is 50 mbps download and 5 mbps upload. I guess I am actually pretty lucky because the speeds I am getting on Speedtest are 63.35 mbps download and 7.35 mbps upload. I would highly recommend this router!!!!

  • Best router ever!

My family was having trouble running all the devices in the household at the same time. 2 PC's, 3 Laptops and everyone wanting to stream movies etc. With this router, we can all do what we want at the same time! And it also has boosted our telephone signals by connecting to WiFi! Now we always get what we want!! So worth the price!!

  • Great coverage for a large home

This router has the greatest signal strength across my one-story home. It's four years old but still a great design. I also have the ASUS RT-86U that was released last summer which is just as nice. There are two keys to reliability for this router. Do NOT use the Smart Connect feature which can cause dropped connections. Give each band a unique SSID and connect each device to one of them. The router is fine, while Smart Connect is not ready for prime time. Also, do NOT install the latest firmware. Install the one just before it. As others experienced, the latest firmware has some fail-to-connect issues while the one before it does not. Once I figured out which one to use, it has been rock solid and plenty fast on a 300Mbps cable connection. The router was $300 when new but about half-price now. Everything arrived in good order via Fedex.

  • So far so good. All functions are working properly.

Wifi on 2.4ghz, 5ghz and second 5ghz is working with no drop connection. All ethernet port is working properly. File transfer from wifi to wifi and ethernet to ethernet are stable. Media drive can be detected from smart tv. NAS Server drive can be detected and configure. Read and write speed to NAS server drive is optimal with little noticable drops speed.. Router runs warm at full throttle. Firmware is up to date. Great router. Only time will tell on longevity.

  • Outstanding

I'm a post Gen-X/Pre-Millennial gamer with a tech savvy family of 5 kids and a wife. We all have tablets, and/or smartphones, We all game, we all stream, and even my Dad across the street does all of the same. Plus I have Direct TV whole home, PlayStation, and a Smart TV. All online at the same time with no drop outs and an average of 15m/s on each device. Best router I've ever had and I even bought it used on eBay. ASUS leads the way in a lot of things, but they definitely have a strong edge on their wireless routers.

  • Good and solid build.

It will take extea time and knowledge to tweak it for best performance. Love 2 SSID's on 5 Ghz.

  • ASUS RT-AC3200 Wireless Router

Recently had to upgrade my wireless router (previous one was old and slow). This ASUS is a good upgrade. Netflix and multiple computers can run simultaneously without a hiccup. The range is without question greater than what I was expecting. I can not comment on the server and advanced setups, but for what I bought it for - it ROCKS ! Overall a great value !
