I use medicated lotions and shampoos for flaking and itching skin. Coal tar is the essential ingredient in most of the older remedies but quite honestly it is a nuisance to apply them regularly. I found the problem so annoying that several years ago I had my face treated with lasers to reduce the bacteria. It didn't work and the problem returned. Then I started using Wrights Coal Tar Soap on a daily basis and my skin improved dramatically to the point where the itching, flaking and redness skin problem appears to have vanished. I no longer use the lotions because they are not needed. I have used many other kinds of medicated soaps at twice the cost and none of them reduced my problem.
