Totally useless for lens. It does absolutely nothing for lens. If anything it made the focussing on an already crappy lens, even worse. I'm going back to a Nikon lens for way better focussing & sharper photos. Tamron sucks balls. Lens won't even lock focus in the dark. My Nikon does.

I had a lens that wouldn't focus properly on one of my cameras. This fixed it pronto! Didn't notice a big difference on my other lens but will have to believe any changes are for the better. Its amazing that the lens noways can be programed.

Used it with my 35 mm lens interestingly I didn’t have to go through much setup. As the lens was recognized by the software it wanted a firmware update. After the update I couldn’t fault the focus. Not so easy with the 150-600. That takes a long time to fine tune. But with out this console was the most disappointing lens I have purchased. Now is useable but for me still need a tripod vc is not sufficient.

I have used my Tamron SP 150-600mm G2 lens for more than a year with Nikon D810, but when I got Nikon Z6, I was forced to buy the TAP-in Console since the lens needed a firmware just to function with the new camera. After updating to the new firmware, I tested the lens and discovered why I was very satisfied with the sharpness at shorter focus distances, _but_not_at_longer_distances_ with my D810: The lens needed quite a bit of AF adjustment at long distances and long focal lengths (but was fine at shorter focal lengths and focus distances). This is not possible to adjust in camera since you only get to adjust one value for all settings. In other words, the AF was quite a bit off at certain settings from the beginning, but I didn't realize it before I got to fine tune AF myself. I have seen this on two other newer Tamron lenses, so I shouldn't be surprised. To me, you actually NEED this accessory, it's not "optional" if you want the lens to perform as expected at all focal lengths and distances. Read full review

It's very expensive for such a simple item, but it is a necessary evil to fix the Tamron lens.
